THURS 10TH: THE BEDROOM ‘GRAVEYARD OF AMBITION’ EP LAUNCH

The Bedroom will celebrate the release of debut EP ‘The Graveyard Of Ambition’ in Belfast with an audiovisual performance as a live duo ; Olan performing vocals, electronics & guitar and Michael Speers joining him live on drums.

The ever inventive and ever elusive Screendeath will be closing the night with a dj set showcasing the talented producers genre-melding abilities beyond the studio. This is following Ryan Thompson’s recent resurfacing after evidently putting a lot of time and thought into the new tracks he’s previewed on his soundcloud page.

Michael Speers will perform an opening set with hardware/analogue electronics employing cassettes, feedback and percussive sounds to create dense decaying textures and deconstructed loops

FRI 11TH: RESPECTED BEGGARS PRESENT: ALEXANDER NUT (EGLO RECORDS) & KAIDI TATHAM & JAMIE NELSON

The Respected Beggars are delighted to bring two of our favourite selectors together for what’s set to be a special night. Expect the best in anything and everything from funk to afrobeat - dub reggae to hip hop- soulful house to dubstep- and bass driven UK garage to grime.

Alexander Nut: We’re really excited to bring the head honcho of Eglo Records over to Belfast.
In our books Alexander Nut’s eclectic taste, vast musical knowledge and seamless mixing make him one of the best DJs around. Few could hold a firm fixture at Outlook, Dimensions and Soundwave like this man does.
To top this off Eglo has been consistently releasing incredible records with a mandate for quality that criss-crosses genres and blurs the boundaries between them.

Kaidi Tatham: Getting the Bugz in the Attic legend down to our night has been at the top of our list from the word go. And since Eglo Record’s latest release is an EP of broken beat bullets from Kaidi we thought the time was right. The man loves soul, jazz, hiphop, funk, boogie and a whole lot more. Expect heavy doses of all the above and for Kaidi to bring the party.

FRI 18TH: DESERT HEARTS + BLUE WHALE + DJs

You never quite know whats going to happen at a Desert Hearts show. That’s the point really. As Charlie steps into the darkness at the front of the stage the crowd wince as half his boot hangs over the edge. But just as it looks like it’s going to all come crashing down it rises up instead. The searing guitars and mammoth drums somehow come together, stepping away from the brink, to create the sound of one of the most exciting and respected bands Belfast has.

The Desert Hearts have always been Charlie (Mooney) and Roisin (Stewart) but now they’ve found new blood and energy in General Fiasco’s Stephen Leacock and Stuart Bell (Ex-Panama Kings).
This has been encapsulated in their new album - Enturbulation = No Challenge on No Dancing Records
