THURS 5TH: BUCKFAST AT TIFFANY’S: SHENANAGERIE AT THE MENAGERIE - FREE ENTRY
DJs Ruth McCarthy , Joe Palookaville and Ryan Fitzsimmons
+ Indoor Cycling w/ Velo-Cafe Magasin!
In a maelstrom of niche, Buckfast at Tiffany’s has none. The aim is simple - we try and play good music seldom heard outside of the living room that is good for the heart and good for the head.
That part in your night when you are getting ready at home doing a wee dance to your favourite record, we want to bring that out on our floor.
You can expect to hear 60’s girl groups, new wave, disco, newfangled electronic things, funk, rhythm and blues, 50’s pop, glam and various other things. Nice things though, for dancing and maybe some sitting. And chatting.
There will also be additional silliness and competitiveness presented by wonderful bike shop Velo Cafe-magasin who will have two bikes bolted to the stage for indoor cycling racing!
9pm / Free Entry
FRI 6TH: OPEN DECK #22 - JAMIE NELSON & JAMIE NEVIN - FREE ENTRY!

Jamie Nevin is one of the founders of the killer Ackright night who have hosted the likes of Gerd and RIP Productions in recent months.
After last week’s party with DJ EZ, we wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a healthy dose of UK Garage in the crates alongside some house, hiphop, psych, techno and whatever else the boys fancy.

Drinks Promos ‘til midnight
SAT 7TH: BELFAST MUSIC CLUB PRESENT DANIELE BALDELLI (ITALY / COSMIC)
Belfast Music Club are incredibly pleased to host one of our biggest inspirations and heroes, one of the most creative and innovative DJ’s of dance music history, Daniele Baldelli. If there’s one word we throw around a lot its cosmic, and this is its creator!
In the ’70s, New York had DJs like David Mancuso, Nicky Siano or the early Larry Levan; in Italy there was Daniele Baldelli.
Measured by the years of service, not many DJs can compete with Daniele Baldelli. He started DJing in 1969 in his hometown Cattolica – a seaside resort on the Adriatic coast. Eight years later, he stood in the legendary DJ booth (built into a fully functional glass lift) of the seminal discotheque Baia Degli Angeli. At the dawn of the ’80s, Daniele Baldelli moved on from the Adriatic coast to the Lake Garda where he was engaged at the club Cosmic. There, he went beyond disco and shaped a style that would soon be known simply as cosmic
The Cosmic Sound included a very diverse range of musical styles, from electro and funk to jazz fusion and Brazilian music. Peter Shapiro described Baldelli’s music as a “combination of spaced-out rock and tribal percussion.” “the Cosmic Sound,”
Cosmic music has been cited as a “touchstone” for contemporary “space disco” artists like Lindstrøm collaborator Prins Thomas, Todd Terje and Andy Meecham of Chicken Lips.

FRI 13TH: STRANGE VICTORY PRESENTS: WOODEN SHJIPS & THE ALTERED HOURS *SOLD OUT!!*
Wooden Shjips’ rise to prominence from the psychedelic underground to the rock and roll overground has been a steady sojourn. With each consecutive release, the band has found new ways of transforming heady psychedelic rock into minimalist masterpieces, bridging the gap between the woozy freeness of Les Rallizes Denudes and Crazy Horse and the tightly wound simplicity of Suicide and the Velvet Underground.
SAT 14TH: SUNGLASSES AFTER DARK: UNTAMED DJs!!
The wildest, most far out rock and roll club in town is back to get you all tore up ..

The Respected Beggars are back in business with a Christmas party. We’ve brought together another diverse line up of talented young DJs from across the UK. Expect the best in Funk, Disco and House.
DANUKA: We’re delighted to bring Danuka to the Menagerie for his Irish debut.
A DJ who refuses to be steered by musical trends, his eclectic sets offer a refreshing range of soulful music that is notably lacking in the modern scene.
ACKRIGHT: Local heads Ackright need little introduction and we’re excited to have them down for our night. If you haven’t heard already they’ve been hard at work every month putting on some of the best nights in Belfast, bringing over Gerd, RIP productions, xxxy, and at the end of this month the one and only DJ EZ. To top this off their skills behind the decks have seen them support SBTRKT and Oneman.
MIND ISLAND: We’ve got the Mancunian back over for our second night and if you were with us last time you’ll know why. Mind Island knows how to carry a bassline and is sure to have the floor of the Menagerie shaking. Check out his sound cloud for an impressive range of heavy house mixes and some more atmospheric productions.

FRI 20TH: FARRIERS CHRISTMAS PARTY + SPECIAL GUESTS
Farriers play a full band show.
First come first served at the door. Special Guests - to be confirmed.
"Farriers wear their musical tastes on their collective sleeve, more American than Bruce Springsteen, more authentic than Mumford & Sons.
Having built an incredibly strong reputation as a fearsome live act, Farriers are confident in their own sound, powerful and anthemic.
The level of musicianship on display is exemplary. Each member of the band brings something unique to the picture, from Rachel Coulter’s sweetly melancholic vocals, to the yearning viola of Kate Squires – firmly rooting the band in an Americana tradition – whilst the rhythm section of Gareth Hughes and Gerry Morgan keep the fire in the engine room burning.
Quite how a Northern Irish band managed to tap into such a resonant vein of Americana is difficult to say, but there’s no doubt that Farriers never veer into pastiche. It’s easy for a band to wear the clothes and talk the talk, whilst never having that emotionally resonant centre that makes it work. Farriers never stumble into this trap.”
9PM / £5
